  1. Scaling on Empoleon's moves ( on hit )

    Hello and welcome in another Empoleon thread, this time covering Empoleon's scaling on hit. Any effects from outside ( like the air scaling ) has been taken into account. Some of Empoleon's moves and support Pokemon have been used to determine the scaling. Let me know if you see an error or a missing move PS: in field, there are some moves missing. That's because the scaling is the same in both duel and field phase. Pokemon moves: Drill peck (grounded) : 0% Drill peck : 50% Defog : 40% Aqua jet (all levels) : 30% Ice beam : 30% Steel wing : 40% follow-up exclusive moves: Cut : 30% Rock Smash : 30% Surf : 60% Waterfall : 60% Hydro cannon : 50% reverse slide Y : 20% per hit Duel exclusive: Light attacks : 5y : 0% 5yy : 30% 2y : 20% 6y : 20% 8y : 20% ( first hit has 0% scaling ) jy : 10% per hit Strong attacks : 5x : 30% 4x : 30% 2x : 30% 8x : 50% jx : 20% Counter Attack : 60% Field exclusive: n.y : 20% s.y : 20% j.y : 50% slide X : 30% homing : 20%
  2. Supports for Empoleon

    There are quite some support that work well with empoleon. and are great for helping empoleon with catching opponents out of the air, as he personally struggles quite a bit with airborne opponents. These pokemon can defenitely cover that weakness. and are also very solid picks for him. It's been widely agreed on that Empoleon lacks defensive options. These supports work great as a get-off-me button, allowing you to get some breath again and possibility change the advantage from theirs to yours. and are good yet simple supports who helps you with being a bigger threat. Having an attack buff while being able to inflict a defense debuff can lead to major damage, both on shield and hit. Not only that, the attack/crit buff also allows Empoleon to hit opponents in burst with light attacks, which means you can use ( mainly ) Aqua Jet and jY without having to worry about light armor. Having access to these moves again will definitely help. Finally, there are supports that can help him with his pressure game, being the spooky duo and (and my personal favourite, ). Mismagius grants you an attack buff, which is great as seen above, and becomes a ball that can pierce counters. You can benefit from this and take the advantage. Ninetales does a lot of shield damage, which syncs well with Empoleon's kit, also doing insane amounts of chip and shield damage. It also has frame 1 invisibility, so it can act a little bit like the get-off-me supports from above. Latios acts like a jail tool. The opponent will be surrounded by the pillars, in which you can take advantage of by pressuring them Honourable mentions are
  3. Empoleon: Twitter Tech Catalog

    as we now have a special twitter tag for this, continuing this thread has become rather unneccesary. For anyone reading this and are looking for more twitter tech. The hashtag goes as follows: #PTDX_EMP . Be sure to check out this hashtag for more empoleon action
  4. Could some one explain why this happens?

    Aqua jet (5a) doesnt have any PSP when you cancel it with another move, which in this case is waterfall. This isn't the case for defog (4a). The PSP are still added to the total and eventually lead to the phase shift after waterfall. Hope this helped
  5. Hey all and welcome in this Block thread, featuring Empoleon. Blocking is one of the core mechanics in Pokkén and definitely worth knowing more about it, for optimal play. Chip damage Several moves in Pokkén give chip damage, which causes you to take damage, even though you're blocking. Chip damage cannot kill however. Here an overview of Empoleon's chip damage : Aqua Jet Lv. 1 - 10, 15 (25 in total) Aqua Jet Lv. 2 - 10, 10, 15 (35 in total) Aqua Jet Lv. 3 - 10, 5, 5, 10 ,15 (45 in total) Drill Peck - 5, 5, 5, 5, 5, 5, 15 (45 in total) Defog - 20, 20 (40 in total) Hydro Cannon Forward - 10, 10, 10, 10, 40 (80 in total, can be less depending on spacing) Hydro Cannon Backwards - 10, 10, 20 (40 in total) Ice Beam - 10, 10, 20 (40 in total) Steel Wing - 45, 45 (90 in total, most of the times only one Steel Wing will connect) Cut - 30 Waterfall - 10, 40 (50 in total) Rock Smash - 15, 20 (35 in total, might whiff depending on spacing) Rock Smash Projectile - 5 Surf - 15, 15, 15, 15 (60 in total) Shield damage and breaks Many moves are able to damage to shield, eventually turning the shield to red. after even more shield damage, your shield will break and the opponent gets a free punishment. Below will be a list with all the moves Empoleon can use to break shield with. after the move, there will be a number, indicating the shield damage out of 100. This is handy to know, as you know which move does more shield damage than the other. Note that on a hard knockdown, the shield damage fully recovers. 6YY ( 25 / 100 ) 6Y second hit only ( 20 / 100 ) 5X ( 15 / 100 ) 2X ( 15 / 100 ) 4X ( 15 / 100 ) jX ( 15 / 100 ) 4A ( 20 / 100 ) 8A ( 20 / 100 ) Hydro cannon forward ( 40 / 100 ) Cut ( 15 / 100 ) Rock smash ( 15 / 100 ) Surf ( 30 / 100 ) CA ( 20 / 100 ) [CA] ( 30 / 100 ) Credits to SSJ-Luffy and Chef for the chip damage and Guard break moves respectively.
  6. Gardevoir’s scaling % on her moves

    Hey all, This has been a project for quite a while for me and I am happy to finally release the collected information. Different methods has been used to determine the %, like some of Gardevoir's moves and some support Pokemon. I have taken account of the -10% scaling when the opponent is in the air, so that should be no issue. If you spot any mistakes or a missing move, let me know and it will be adjusted. it will be noted with the following : "move : scaling % ( how much the tested move scaled )" PS: you will notice that Field Phase misses some moves. those moves also exist in Duel phase and share the same scaling % Duel phase : Pokemon moves 2A : 60% ( 80 -> 32 ) 4AY: 20% ( 40 -> 32 ) 4AYY : 10% ( 30 -> 27 ) 4AX : 60% ( 80 -> 32 ) 4AA : No scaling 5A : 10% ( 40 -> 36 ) 6A : 50% ( 40 -> 20 ) 8A : 30% ( 80 -> 56 ) j.A : 10% ( 40 -> 36 ) [A] full : 80% ( 40 -> 8 ) [A] shield : 20% ( 40 -> 32 ) [A] beam : 60% ( 40 -> 16 ) Strong attacks 2X : 10% ( 80 -> 72 ) 4X : 60% ( 100 -> 40 ) 5X : 20% ( 80 -> 64 ) 6X : 30% ( 80 -> 56 ) 8X : no scaling j.X : 20% ( 80 -> 64 ) Weak attacks 2Y : 10% ( 20 -> 18 ) 4Y : 50% ( 40 -> 20 ) 5Y : 10% ( 80 -> 72 ) 5YY : 30% ( 80 -> 56 ) 5YYY : 40% ( 80 -> 48 ) 6Y : 20% ( 80 -> 64 ) 8Y : 50% ( 40 -> 20 ) j.Y : no scaling Counter Attack CA : 40% ( 40 -> 24 ) [CA] : 50% ( 80 -> 40 ) j.CA : no scaling Field Phase : n.Y : 20% ( 80 -> 64 ) f[Y] : 50% ( 80 -> 40 ) s.Y : 50% ( 80 -> 40 ) b[Y] : 50% ( 40 -> 20 ) j.A : 20% ( 80 -> 64 ) b.AY : 20% ( 40 -> 32 ) b.AYY : no scaling Burst mode : n.Y : 10% ( 100 -> 90 )
