  1. If you have any extra things to add comment below! I will be answering questions here as well!
  2. Hi guys! As you know, I love Pokkén and run locals, and I wanna see everyone have as much fun as me, and I know it pains some people to not be able to have a local in their area, so that's where I come in. I will help YOU, the Pokkén fan, the dedicated person, host and run your very own local from scratch, just follow the guide below! Enjoy and if you have any questions DM me on twitter @MunsterFGC Step 1: Frequency of event 3 big factors to consider: How much time do you have? How much time do your players have? How expensive will it be (for you and your players (entry fee, venue fee)) Step 2: Research/Interest of the players Bring your switch to locals of games other than Pokkén and ask if people want to play Pokkén with you in between their brackets At the local scene find the head TO Talk to them about your game and how some of the players that you’ve been playing with enjoy the game. Asking your friends to join you and come to the event to play video games with you!! THEN Bring your friends Step 3: Logistics of it Figure out if you want one setup or two (completely dependent on amount of people who register and how many switches you have) Ask head TO if they could provide monitors (you would bring everything else) Step 4: What you will be bringing Desktop PC or Gaming Laptop If you don’t have the local streamed then the local is pointless and won’t be as much of an incentive for players to participate or grow Mic (Blue yeti or snowball or headset mics for commentary) Cameras (either 1 or two (one for commentary, one for players)) Switches (2 Nintendo switches with the game, with spare controllers and LAN Adapters) Elgato or game capture device Step 5: Promotion Does your local have a name? - if yes then this will be your base for promotion Does your local have a date? - if yes then people and PokkenArena can mark their calendars regularly! Do YOU have Twitter? - if yes then you can promote the event like crazy when it goes LIVE on Twitch! Do you have Discord? (region discord too) - if yes then you can ask for help, gather more players in the area and invite OUT OF STATE talent! Do you have Smash.gg - if yes then you can run the bracket smoothly and tell people where to sign up! Step 6: How to keep your player base MAKE A GROUP CHAT (Facebook Messenger or Discord) They can know when the next event is They will now Know how to register They will now Know where it is Extras: Overlays from designers can be done from cool people in the community, just ask around in the main discord! Stream advice can be gotten from members in the community as well! Commentators are a big part of it, and you might need to do commentary with your friends until you get commentators that regularly come to commentate (which is rare), you can also get the players participating to commentate!! ***INVITING AND ASKING FRIENDS FROM OUT OF REGION BOOSTS POPULARITY!!*** I will be posting a VoD of how to do this with explanation soon (video from twitch)

  6. Hey guys! StDxMunster here! I've been browsing Twitch and seen a ton of you streaming Pokkén and its amazing! However, lets keep some tips in mind when streaming Pokkén if you wanna make your content look crisp and perfect! 1. Bit-rate and Output on OBS, XSplit and StreamlabsOBS are KEY, if you have a good bit-rate and output quality then you are golden! The stream looks a million times better and less fuzzy during movement of the game. I know everyone wants to have a 720p60fps stream, but for outputting most games, this just isn't necessary and hurts your PC and internet way too much than needed. I suggest a bit-rate start at 2500 to see how everything looks, and an output of 720p 30fps, these settings let your PC take a break and the game looks crystal clear even with a ton of movement on the screen, that's because the bit-rate is low enough for all the packets to render and output and high enough for people to not see frame drops, etc and other fuzzy stuff, its a good start, and I think it makes a lot of streams look better. QUANTITY IS NOT BETTER THAN QUALITY. 2. BE ENERGETIC. Because Pokkén is such a small community, we need YOUR help to bring in the viewers! Be energized! Like a Duracell battery that just came out of the box! Energy and positive vibes brings in people off the bat and is the first part to getting viewers to stay in your stream and start loving Pokkén! If you're hyped, they're hyped. 3. INTERACT WITH YO CHAT. This does not just mean answer what people say in your chat, interact with them, have stream alerts so people can feel special for subbing, following, donating, etc. THIS HELPS A TON. Asking questions about your chat, making them feel like more than just a viewer means the world to them and makes them want to come to more and more of your streams, it makes them feel like your stream is their relaxation at the end of a hard day, or the answer to feel better about a hard time in life. Make your stream a fun and happy place. I know the game is important and grinding it is absolutely fun and all, but when you stream taking the time to make it 50% game and 50% chat can mean the difference between a follow and a sub. 4. TO FACE-CAM OR NOT TO FACE-CAM: Look, I know that some of the people are shy and don't want to have a face-cam on their streams, but that's just the meta now, streaming to get viewers, bring in fans etc are helped a lot with your face attached to the game, fans love to see personality attached to the content. THIS DOES NOT MEAN YOU CANNOT GROW ON TWITCH WITHOUT A CAMERA, IT JUST MEANS IT IS MUCH HARDER. If you have a facecam, use it, stream with yo face and show people the mask behind the best blastoise NA or best Sceptile Tristate. Don't be scared, just embrace who you are and show the world who you are and who that master player is behind the gameplay! 5. OVERLAYS: Yes these are important, but having ALL STEPS ABOVE are a necessity before this part, because I feel like once you have all that, then its down to the aesthetics. Overlays are tricky, if done wrong it looks like MS Paint on your screen, but if done right it looks like a partnered streamer that makes 500k a month is playing Pokkén tournament dx. Try to get your overlays done custom by designers, and if you dont know graphic designer, i can help you find one or someone in the community is bound to know one. Make sure the designer knows if you're using a facecam or not, etc etc. 6. BE A NICE PERSON AND HIRE MODS: Don't be toxic, racist, or an overall twat in your streams, no one wants to come to a twitch channel seeing someone be belittled, because guaranteed they sure wont know the context. Try to keep things PG, especially because this is a Pokemon game. Swearing occasionally shouldn't do anything to your views, but being overtly obnoxious or talking about who you saw on tinder, etc might have negative repercussions on sponsor opportunities, and other things down the line, just be friendly, and be happy! ALSO, hiring moderators is a must, you cant control what happens in your chat while you are mid game, so having a mod to flood out the toxic memerkids helps your soul, definitely try to get mods that you know well or that know your stream well and you trust. 7. HAVE FUN! THIS IS THE KEY STEP, IF YOU AIN'T HAVING FUN, PEOPLE WATCHING EITHER ENJOY YOU RAGING OR AIN'T HAVING FUN EITHER, LOVE THE GAME! Pokkén is a great game with a great community! If you're streaming it, reflect that on the stream! Well thats all the tips I have for today, if you have any questions feel free to comment below or mention me on twitter @StDxMunster ! I hope these tips help you out if you were looking to know how to stream better content and make your content fresh af! Have a great one guys! OH ALSO ONE MORE THING: EQUIPMENT, START OFF WITH WHAT YOU GOT AND UPGRADE AS YOU GO! EQUIPMENT DOES NOT MEAN BAD QUALITY STREAMS UNLESS YOU USE A LITERAL POTATO THAT WONT LET YOU STREAM! #PokkenTournamentDX
