    Weavile Combo Switch 1.3.1

It has been a while since my last combo sheet. New moves have been added and damages have been changed. It is time for an update. I did a lot of testing and searched as much as I could find to create this list, using the old one as a reference. Same rules apply like in my old one: Yellow is for combo variations Red is for Burst combos Only burst combos that are greater than or equal to raw Burst (Raw burst = 171 dmg) " * " is for combos that phase shift Again I used Braixen mostly for this. Field fY sY bY j.Y j.X j.A (Field) Duel 5Y 2Y 8Y 5X 6X 8X 5A 2A 4A 8A j.Y j.A (Duel) X+A

    Information checklist

I got some useless frame data knowledge for ya. I sadly, I don't have Pokkén DX yet. I'm working on saving for it, but in the meantime, I compared the frame data Appleboom made between DX and Wii U and saw that Weavile's frame data stayed pretty much the same. I hope this can help players a little even if it ain't much. I was poking through training as usual with a goal of figuring out Agility, Fake Out and Fury Swipes. I wanted to utilize these moves more, but didn't know when Fury Swipes or Fake Out came out. Often I would get beat up by CAs when using either moves, so I wanted to utilize frame trapping. Along the way, I found the frame data of other moves to help me narrow down how long Agility is and when does it execute Fury Swipes or Fake Out. Note that I did not use any kind of program to find out when these moves actually start. I had to switch back and forth between various characters to narrow down some of the moves. These numbers are guesstimations. Here are some things that I found: Agility starts at frame 1 and it's earliest frame to cancel into either Fury Swipes or Fake Out is frame 12 Agility into Fury Swipes is ~25 frames (At earliest) Agility into Fake Out is ~33 frames (At earliest) 13 frames between Fake Out and Fury Swipes (In 5A > XY or 5A > XXY) The first Fury Swipes lasts 12 frames Agility is ~40 frames long 5Y and its jabs, 4Y and its jabs, 2Y, 2YY, 5X and 6X can be special canceled 5YY is ~25 frames 5YYY is ~45 frames 2YY is ~33 frames Second hit of 8AA takes 9 frames to execute Second hit of 8A[A] takes 29 frames to execute normal CAs have a 1-4 frames of vulnerability before impact Again, I don't know how these translate to DX. Maybe someone else could confirm for me if these are legit maybe? Anyways these are what I've found. There are others, but I'm not confident in posting them as I can't confirm if they are true. Thanks for reading whoever ya are.

    Weavile Bread and Butters

I still argue Chandelure can be caught by 4A > YYYX > A > AAAAA, it just takes timing. He has to be caught closer to the ground than just mashing Y at the start or the scoop will carry him too high. In such cases, yes, 6A would be preferred, but once you catch him in the right spot, fury swipes guaranteed every time.

    TRANSLATED PATCH NOTES FOR "1.5"

It sucks about the 6X nerf cuz that was one of his best moves. He can barely deal a lot of damage as it is, so this will make it harder with the reduced damage and increased scaling. It's the 8Y combos all over again. With this nerf, Weavile needs more defensive options. He get's beat out by so many things, it's unbelievable sometimes. Braixen, Suicune, Libre, Charizard, Lucario, Mewtwo, and Shadow Mewtwo all have a big game of keeping Weavile out and Mewtwo, Shadow Mewtwo, Suicune, and to some extent, Charizard can stall in the air obnoxiously high making it difficult to anti air. Although I am happy they buffed Weavile at last, I was hoping they would buff Weavile's Icicle Crash more. Give IC R more hit stun on hit and shield or increase its hitbox when it crashes to the ground. It's barely used cuz of how ineffective it is at stopping opponents even on critical hit. Night Slash (4A) could have that extra shield range like Taunt (2A) has. or they could increase the distance of agility in burst since 6X pushes the opponent so far. I don't know if these suggestions would make Weavile broken but he really does need something more useful than just buffing moves hardly anyone uses (except 2Y) and nerfing one of his best.

Pokkén Tournament DX announced for Nintendo Switch

I am happy that Pokkén is going to be on the Switch, but I'm also mad that the new characters are only going on the Switch. I feel a little betrayed by that especially since I don't have one.

Weavile Combo Strings v. 1.3 (Orginally made by Striker008)

    EvryDamnDay found this one. 8Y > midair A > j.1B~R > 8Y > midair A > j.3B~Y > YYYY ~ 98 dmg* He has put a couple of other combos on his channel on youtube too. I decided to experiment a little with it to find other variations with more damage. Here are some. 8Y > midair A > j.1B~R > 8Y > midair A > j.3B~Y > YYY > 6A ~ 103 dmg* 8Y > midair A > j.1B~R > 8Y > midair A > j.3B~Y > YX ~ 103 dmg* 8Y > midair A > j.1B~R > 8Y > midair A > j.3B~Y > 2X ~ 103 dmg* [X] > A > XY > 8Y > midair A > j.3B~Y > YYYYY ~ 141 dmg* [X] > A > XY > 8Y > midair A > j.3B~Y > YYY > 6A ~ 138 dmg [X] > A > XY > 8Y > midair A > j.3B~Y > YYYX > A > AAAAA ~ 149 dmg* [X] > A > XY > 8Y > midair A > j.3B~Y > YYYX > 6A ~ 143 dmg* [X] > A > XY > 8Y > midair A > j.3B~Y > 2X ~ 132 dmg* XX > 8Y > midair A > j.3B~Y > 4YYYY ~ 153 dmg* XX > 8Y > midair A > j.3B~Y > 4YYY > 6A ~ 158 dmg* XX > 8Y > midair A > j.3B~Y > 4YYYX ~ 155 dmg* I tried a little support variations with this too and it seems farfetch'd can combo into this after the j.3B~Y. I have not tested other supports. Will look into that later.

    Weavile Matchups-Master Thread

When fighting libre, I have trouble when they start shielding my j.X. It seems like I can't dodge their 5X no matter what I do. Is it possible to avoid 5X or will I just have to avoid using my j.X altogether?

    Weavile Q/A Thread

When is a good time to use Night Slash (4A) in both field and duel phase?
  9. striker008

What do you do in Field Phase?

I play a lot of weavile. I usually start with s.Y too, but others times, I use 5Y to stop homings. 5Y into f.Y doesn't combo when the opponent is on the ground; it only combos when they're airborne. However, I find myself using 5Y into f.Y a lot as a mixup. Alternatively, using a side agility into fury swipes or night slash are helpful sometimes as anti oki options.

Weavile Combo Strings v. 1.3 (Orginally made by Striker008)

    I have found some new combos in training. 5[X] or 6[X] combed with 8Y at the wall. It only seems to work on Gardevoir, Chandelure, Suicune and Sceptile. 6[X] W! into 8Y is usually impossible on most pokemon. Suicune was the only one that I found that this combo worked on. The 5[X] combo starter was a little easier, but for Gardevoir and Sceptile, I could not get the j.A hit with the icicle. Chandelure is can only be comboed if he is hit by j.A. Suicune can be hit with or without the extra j.A hit. [X] > W! > 8Y > midair A(hit) > j.1B~R > 6A ~ 220 dmg* [X] > W! > 8Y > midair A(hit) > j.1B~R > A > AAAAA ~ 208 dmg* [X] > W! > 8Y > midair A(hit) > j.1B~R > A > XY > YYY > 6A ~ 184 dmg* [X] > W! > 8Y > midair A(hit) > j.1B~R > A > XY > X ~ 220 dmg* [X] > W! > 8Y > midair A(hit) > j.1B~R > 8A ~ 196 dmg* [X] > W! > 8Y > midair A(hit) > j.1B~R > j.Y W! > YYY > 6A ~ 244 dmg* [X] > W! > 8Y > midair A(hit) > j.1B~R > j.Y W! > X ~ 220 dmg* [X] > W! > 8Y > midair A(hit) > j.1B~R > j.Y W! > 8Y ~ 208 dmg* [X] > W! > 8Y > midair A(hit) > j.1B~R > j.A > j.1B~R ~ 184 dmg* [X] > W! > 8Y > midair A(hit) > j.1B~R > YYY W! > Burst ~ 256 dmg* [X] > W! > 8Y > midair A(hit) > j.1B~R > A > XY > A > Burst ~ 248 dmg* [X] > W! > 8Y > midair A(hit) > j.1B~R > A > XY > Y > Burst ~ 250 dmg* [X] > W! > 8Y > midair A(hit) > j.1B~R > j.Y W! > Burst ~ 267 dmg* 6[X] > W! > 8Y > midair A(hit) > j.1B~R > A > AAAAA ~ 221 dmg* 6[X] > W! > 8Y > midair A(hit) > j.1B~R > A > XY > YYY > 6A ~ 199 dmg* 6[X] > W! > 8Y > midair A(hit) > j.1B~R > A > XY > X ~ 185 dmg* 6[X] > W! > 8Y > midair A(hit) > j.1B~R > 6A ~ 234 dmg* 6[X] > W! > 8Y > midair A(hit) > j.1B~R > 4A ~ 211 dmg* 6[X] > W! > 8Y > midair A(hit) > j.1B~R > 8A ~ 199 dmg* 6[X] > W! > 8Y > midair A(hit) > j.1B~R > j.Y W! > YYY > 6A ~ 258 dmg* 6[X] > W! > 8Y > midair A(hit) > j.1B~R > j.Y W! > X ~ 234 dmg* 6[X] > W! > 8Y > midair A(hit) > j.1B~R > j.Y W! > 8Y ~ 220 dmg* 6[X] > W! > 8Y > midair A(hit) > j.1B~R > j.A > j.1B~R ~ 192 dmg* 6[X] > W! > 8Y > midair A(hit) > j.1B~R > YYY W! > Burst ~ 265 dmg* 6[X] > W! > 8Y > midair A(hit) > j.1B~R > A > XY > A > Burst ~ 258 dmg* 6[X] > W! > 8Y > midair A(hit) > j.1B~R > A > XY > Y > Burst ~ 261 dmg* 6[X] > W! > 8Y > midair A(hit) > j.1B~R > j.Y W! > Burst ~ 279 dmg*

Ok I suck at understanding discord so I'll just use twitter to notify instead. I'm gonna try making it every other week cuz classes land right on Thursday ending at 7pm. Makes me sad.

    Blaziken Combo Thread

Yeah it looks much better. I actually tried finding more combos after I posted earlier and ended up with 3 pages worth of stuff excluding a lot of wall carry combos. Idk if I should just post them all here, post selective ones, or just give them to someone else to figure out. I haven't posted anything yet. I can try and find any of Zenkuri's wall combos if it helps fill the thread up.

Weavile's Field Phase projectile limit explained.

I know that once the opponent is in burst (and weavile isn't), they cannot be stunned or frozen by weavile's projectiles, but can the launch still happen?
