While it's been known since last year that you could backdash the final hit of Garchomp's Burst Attack, trying to perform this has always been a bit risky as a mistimed backdash would result in getting hit. The benefits of avoiding the final hit include being able to punish Garchomp as well as not losing some of your Synergy Gauge, but the difficulty meant many players elected to just take the Guard Break.
Thanks to H2's new video, this no longer has to be the case.
Before H2's video, attempting to backdash Garchomp's Burst Attack had 3 possible outcomes: Successfully backdashing to avoid the final hit, Backdashing too late and having your Guard broken, or backdashing at the wrong time and taking damage. H2 explains in this video that players can - when performed correctly - eliminate the possibility of taking damage. He explains that players can perform an Option Select (multiple inputs in order to cover multiple options) that will result in either having your Guard broken or backdashing successfully.
If you're looking to upgrade your Pokkén play, the video is definitely worth a watch. Check it out below, and be sure to give H2 a follow if you want to see more!
