MISC:

  • M = Mirror
  • 5* = LQF Wingtide vs LCF. Wingtide Picked Aegislash but it didn't get a chance to play because he swept w/ Libre
  • JP = Missing Character data.

NOTES:

  • Mewtwo and Shadow Mewtwo are the only two characters to see use in over 20 sets. Mewtwo is also the only character to hit double digits in mirror matches.
  • OCE and EU both have character appearances unique to their tournaments. OCE is the only tournament to see the use of Blastoise (via Jamesibell) and Croagunk (via Santa).
    EU on the other hand is the only tournament usage of Gengar (via TARUTARO) and Weavile (via Potetin).
  • The middle of the pack picks would be Aegislash, Lucario, Marchamp, Sceptile, Suicune, and Pikachu Libre all breaking double digits but not nearly as prioritized as Mewtwo or Shadow Mewtwo.
    Of these picks only Aegislash and Suicune are the only ones to be seen at all four tournaments. The rest of the picks have only appeared at 3 of 4 tournaments.
    Lucario was not used in JP, Machamp was not used in NA, Sceptile was not used in EU, Pikachu Libre was not used in OCE. Each region is missing one middle of the pack pick.
  • Scizor and Darkrai are two of the lesser picked characters however they do see play at all 4 tournaments compared to their other lesser picked counter parks. Interestingly, Darkrai saw the same number of sets each time the character appeared,
  • Charizard and Gardevoir are the only two characters to see no representation at any tournament.

KEY/LEGEND

MC = Match Count (Game Count)

F = Front / Lead

M = Middle
A = Anchor / Last
* = Mirror Match so numbers will fluctuate.
~ = Couldn't confirm position because one character swept the opposing players team.

There was a lot of mirror date for the more frequent picks that it'd take a while to note each individual one I marked down so you can take a look via the sheet.

Sorry PA was not kind to the formatting of this chart. It is easier to read on the google sheet.

NOTES:

  • Mewtwo main position is in the lead at 46 times that it started out in front. However in EU Mewtwo was primarily used as a anchor compared to the other regions that used him as a lead.
    Mewtwo missed out on one of it's mirror matches in EU where Potetin swept Wingtide w/ Pikachu Libre in game two of Winner Semi Finals.
  • Pikachu Libre while it's total value shows much more priority as a lead this is mostly from EU which made up 26 of 31 lead starts.
  • Sceptile and Aegislash see very similar usages where they are primarily used as mid characters but still can be shifted around to lead or anchor fairly frequently.
  • Machamp is used primarily as a mid or anchor seeing very little use as lead. 6 of his 7 lead matches were in EU when TAROTARU subbed in match Machamp for two sets. WF vs Potetin and  LF vs Wingtide.
    Machamp also gets a majority of it's mid usage from the JP Qualifier with 13 of 18 matches where as it saw most of it's anchor usage in EU with 11 of 19 matches.
  • Suicune saw usage in all regions but primarily in OCE and NA. In these regions both times Suicunes most place position was anchor. OCE leaned much more heavily on Suicune as a anchor with it being the anchor for 13 of the 17 matches. Where as NA had a bit more flexibility Suicune still saw 11 games as anchor but it still got 7 matches as lead as well with a little bit of mid usage.

This chart is to show how many players played a character at a tournament to see how popular the character was as a Pick.

PLAYERS:
OCE (Santa, Jamesibell, Gu, Iceburgy, Elm, Sir Banana, Crosslgarashi, Antwerp)
EU (Goreson, Rubs, LCF, Millertime, Wingtide, Potetin, Fabilous, TARUTARO
JP (Subaton, Kapo, Podemeu, Kura, Potetin, Azazel, Sarutarou, Uho)
NA (ELM, Rokso, ThankSwalot, Toasty, Mewtater, Tonosama, Allister, Shadowcat)

Notes:

  • Potetin and ELM are the only players to appear twice. Potetin in EU and JP and ELM in OCE and NA.
  • Of the 32 total players Mewtwo was picked by 16 players. Half of the players who made top 8 picked Mewtwo at last once.
    Shadow Mewtwo is just barely behind at 14 players of 32. These two characters are the only ones to break double digits. The next closest to break double digits would be Libre at 9 players.
  • Darkrai only appeared in 8 sets and was used by a total of 6 players making it one of the most picked low priority characters. Which is interesting considering that it only appeared in 8 sets so it almost had a different player for each set it appeared.
  • Scizor on the other hand is the only character to appear at each tournament but only have one person player this character having it be at lowest value possible.
  • Aegislash had only one representative for each region except for JP. SirBanana (OCE), Wingtide (EU), Mewtater (NA). In JP SaruTarou, Subaton, Potetin all picked Aegislash
    Aegislash has been on the winning side of grand finals for every region but OCE.
  • It's also interesting to note that Darkrai and Aegislash have the same amount of player picks at 6. Even though Aegislash isn't getting picked as much it still find a lot of success with the players that do pick the character in comparison to the players that don't.

Notes + MISC (To be edited in later) Support shit will go here.
